Liability Coverage:

·        Bodily Injury Liability: This coverage pays for injuries that you, as the at-fault driver, cause to others in an accident. North Carolina requires minimum coverage for bodily injury liability at $30,000 for any one person injured / $60,000 for two or more people injured.

·        Property Damage Liability: This coverage pays for damage to the property of others caused by your vehicle. $25,000 is the minimum limit for Property Damage coverage in North Carolina.

Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist Coverage:

·        Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury: This coverage protects you in the event of an accident with an uninsured driver. YOUR insurance acts as THEIR insurance.

·        Underinsured Motorist Bodily Injury: This coverage steps in when the at-fault driver’s insurance is insufficient to cover your medical expenses. YOUR insurance acts as THEIR insurance for the DIFFERENCE up to the level of your increased limits of insurance coverage.

Medical Payments Coverage:

·        This coverage pays for medical expenses for you and your passengers, regardless of who is at fault.

Collision Coverage:

·        Collision coverage pays for damage to your vehicle caused by a collision with another vehicle, object, or if overturned.

Comprehensive Coverage:

·        Comprehensive coverage covers damage to your vehicle from non-collision incidents like theft, vandalism, natural disasters, or hitting an animal.

Towing and Rental Reimbursement Coverage:

·        These optional coverages can help cover the cost of towing your vehicle after an accident and provide reimbursement for a rental car while your vehicle is being repaired.

Additional Optional Coverages:

·        Roadside Assistance: Coverage for services like flat tire changes, fuel delivery, and lockout assistance. Not all insurance carriers offer this coverage.

·        Gap Insurance: If your vehicle is financed, gap insurance covers the difference between the vehicle’s actual cash value and the amount you owe on your loan or lease in the event of a total loss. You would get this from your finance company.
